Barun Sobti is an Indian model and television actor and now he is venturing into Bollywood. He belongs to a Sikh Punjabi family from Delhi. Sobti worked as an operation manager at Jindal Telecom for 7 years before entering the entertainment industry. He got married to Pashmeen Manchanda on 12th December 2010. His career was launched from the STAR Plus television series Shraddha. He became popular with the STAR Plus's romantic drama television series where he played the character of Arnav Singh Raizada (ASR) in Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?. Now he is entering in the Indian film industry too and his two films Main Aur Mr. Right & 22 Yards are slated to go on floors soon, through these films he will get recognize as Indian Film actor too.

Barun Sobti was born on 21 August 1984 in a Punjabi family at delhi. He completed his schooling in Delhi from St. Mark's School, Meera Bagh and graduation from delhi itself. He is multilingual & good at English, Hindi and Punjabi. Barun Sobti started his career from the STAR Plus serial "Shraddha" opposite to Neha Jhanpandit but was later recognized for the role of Shravan Jaiswal in Tv serial "Baat Hamari Pakki Hai" opposite to Ankita Sharma. Barun played the most loved character of "Arnav Singh Raizada" in "Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon" with sanaya Irani as "Khushi kumari gupta". He also hosted star parivaar awards 2012 and won few awards as an individual and for couple for "Iss pyaar ko kya naam du". Noreen Khan from BBC interviewed sobti in march 2012. Now,Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam doon has got ended and the reason is his Bollywood project, "Main Aur Mr Right", in which even Shenaz Treasurywala is featured and plays a pivotal role which is completed and is ready to get release. Sobti's next film is for cricket lovers 22 Yards which is slated to get release by this year as its shooting got started in January.

In real life Barun sobti got married to his childhood friend,Pashmeen Manchanda on 12th December 2010. It was a simple wedding ceremony held at a Gurudwara in presence of some friends and relatives. His wife is not from the tv industry. Its been heard that she works with multinational company.

Main Aur Mr. Right

Barun Sobti is all set to sizzle the big screen with Main Aur Mr. Right slated to release in couple of months. Main Aur Mr. Right is an upcoming Bollywood movie which marks the debut of popular television actor, Barun Sobti's first film. The film stars Shenaz Treasurywala as the female lead. Main Aur Mr. Right is a funny-romantic venture telling a story of a young girl in search of her Mr. Right. It is a romantic comedy telling the story of a young girl in search of her Mr. Right. Aliya is a perfectionist and just won't settle for anything less. There are four men she proceeds to meet and seems fairly interested in, yet she is unsure who be the most suitable for her title of "Mr.Right". The movie captures her journey of learning to look past her strict requirements of the ideal, perfect man and finding true love. The film went on floors on 10 May 2012 and recently completed filming and packed up in August. The film is said to release in July of 2013.

22 Yards

22 Yards is the second upcoming film of Barun for cricket lovers, Mitali Ghoshal's film is based on cricket with a fresh and talented team. Barun Said about his new project "I am really excited to be working with Mitali and MS productions. It's a great script; the film is based on cricket with many important characters. We will start with the workshops in January and shoot in April. This is the project that I am concentrating on right now and yes I am also reading other scripts but taking my time to decide my next." Recently Barun visited kolkata to shoot for his second film which is tentatively titled as 22 Yards that will be directed by Mitali Ghoshal, who had earlier made the documentary The Warrior Prince on Sourav Ganguly.

Barun sobti and Sanaya Irani:

Barun sobti and Sanaya Irani played lead role in star plus's popular serial "Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon" as Arnav Singh Raizada and Khushi kumari Gupta. Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon was a star-crossed love story presenting an interesting contrast of personalities entwined in a relationship swinging between love & hate. Khushi and Arnav have diametrically opposite ideologies. In real life Sanaya is dating Mohit sehgal, popular television actor. On the other hand, young actor married his childhood friend Pashmeen Manchanda in 2010.

Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon was one of the top shows on STAR Plus. Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, story of Arnav Singh Raizada (Barun Sobti) and Khushi kumari Gupta (Sanaya Irani).

Barun played the character of Arnav Singh Raizada a 28 year old successful business tycoon,likes to divert people which helps him to achieve his own goals, Overprotective towards his family and becomes uncomfortable with emotional situations. Where as, character of Khushi kumari Gupta (Sanaya Irani)a 18 year old girl from Lucknow, lively,chirpy and helpful.
